PM Affirms Overseas Medical Treatment is Not Solely for only Cambodians

Kandal, March 13, 2024: Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Manet, emphasized that seeking medical treatment abroad is not exclusive to Cambodia.

Addressing attendees at the inauguration ceremony of Techo Sen Koh Thom Hospital in Koh Thom district, Kandal province, on the morning of March 13, 2024, the Prime Minister Manet highlighted that the decision to seek medical care abroad is made by individuals, a choice also exercised by people from other countries.

While acknowledging that some Cambodians opt for medical treatment overseas, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of supporting domestic healthcare services.

""Less treatment abroad! At home, we treat millions of people a year." stated the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister also noted that Cambodia receives patients from other countries for medical treatment. He underscored the competency of Cambodian medical professionals while emphasizing the need for further equipment enhancement.

The Prime Minister's remarks underscored the government's commitment to bolstering healthcare infrastructure and services within Cambodia while acknowledging the country's role in providing medical care to both citizens and international visitors.
